How Lonely Do You Feel? by Vidushi Khera

I have always been a 'poem' guy..write my own stuff..(but burned it all once)..haven't really started off writing apart from the odd ones here and there..Now Vidushi Khera is one poet that i would like to meet..came across her poems a few years back on poemhunter.com. Brilliant!!! i should be the last person on this planet to comment on any poems..forget the structure..forget the scheme...forget the emotional depth and blah..blah..the poems just made me feel at peace..an inexplicable sense of something..but something positive...and i'd like to leave it at that.. :)
So jus putting up one of her poems..."How Lonely Do You Feel?"

When times are bad and you have no friends
When the hopes of life lead to dead ends
When all your surroundings have nothing to give
And you can’t imagine life the way you live
When on your knees you bend and you kneel
How lonely do you feel?

When time goes by and you can’t keep pace
When the world laughs at your weary face
When all that you thought had belonged to you
Turns into trash, your happiness too
When life takes the fruit and leaves the peel
How lonely do you feel?

When all those things that once were yours
Go by like the ticking hours
When you’ve got nothing, no one to turn to
When all your people have betrayed you
When you are left with no joy, no zeal
How lonely do you feel?

When life is more of a terror than a test
When you get nothing though you try your best
When you are numb and you find not a wound healing
When you are a bird without any wings
When in the game of life you’ve lost the deal
How lonely do you feel?

When you find a person in such a state
Go up to him, do not wait
Let this question go on like a wheel
Ask him, “How lonely do you feel? ”

Motivational !!!- by Bryon Dyson

Came across this speech by Bryon dyson: President and CEO, Coca-Cola Enterprises during his speech at the Georgia Tech 172nd Commencement Address Sept. 6, 1996

"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them – work, family, health, friends and spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends and spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How?
Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.
Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as they would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future.By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.
Don’t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us to each together.
Don’t be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it’s impossible to find time. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you are going.
Don’t forget, a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.
Don’t be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.
Don’t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way."

Couldn't have found a worse time to blog!!!!!

I have to be out of mind!!!!
Of all the time that i had in the past 8 months after coming to MDI, i had to choose 14th February, 2010, a day before my Mid term exams to blog... :( What timing!!!!

Here i am with a book in hand "Corporate Finance" :( trying to make sense out of nothing and yet i feel like writing something..
yesterday we had our alumni meet..it ws good to see them relive their campus moments and bond with their batchmates, some of whom with they had lost touch...Reason why i'm suddenly nostalgic abt it is for the fact that i had one of the best conversations yesterday night with two of my very close frnds.it started off as the complaining session..."God! why do u do this to us..(btw..the three of us were facing the same problem.. the love depression- in varying degrees and reasons)" and then u end up talking abt random stuff..take the frustration out of your system and voila!!! u suddenly start feeling good...have things changed?..NO..its the same..the same old issues..yet u feel light..
gotta stop nw..i know its incomplete..but i better prepare for th pprs..else i will have time only for blogging ;-)
