My first "Blog"

Finally….after 4 years, 7 months, 16 days, 7 hours and 34 minutes…I have “blogged” my first blog!!!! (Now that’s what I call PROCRASTINATION!!! Try beating that J )

After thinking for an era on what should be ideally my first blog, I felt I should begin with something that’s inherent…something that describes me to very large extent and the first word that came to my mind was----- SOLITUDE!!!!

“I love people. I love my family, my friends . . . but inside myself is a place where I live all alone and that's where you renew your springs that never dry up.”                                                                         - Pearl.S.Buck

Let me first clearly state that in no way am I a misanthrope…it’s just that I love my solitude slightly more than the people around me J. As I like to put it…solitude is addictive!!! People tend to mistake solitude with reticence, arrogance, superiority/inferiority complex, boredom and more often than not ppl tend to mistake it with loneliness… Solitude is above all this…its sort of a meditative state wherein u are at peace with yourself and the world around u. A time to connect with yourself… (Ironically its in solitude that we think the most about others and what they think about us!!! J ) And when I say connect with yourself, its not like complain box session…its more or less like a thanking yourself moment, accepting who you really are, a small thank you to God (for those who believe), perhaps taking out a moment to smell a flower, probably catching the sunrise/sunset, laughing out aloud on a joke you remembered, humming a tune, or may be just smiling and telling yourself “I love me!!!” …I’m not preaching any “art of living” technique out here…but thts the way it is…Solitude is kind of a  bridge that connects ‘I’ with the ‘they’…something tht creates a harmony between ‘me’ and ‘them’…(Damn!!! Too philosophical I guess)…but the fact of the matter is most of us have lost touch with ourselves…Get in touch with yourself guys!!! Rfresh yourself!!! Get your dose of solitude today…I guess I’ll let Ralph Waldo Emerson say the rest !!! J

What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what your duty is better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great person is one who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”

 Wht say guys???
